Light of the World

Verses: Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.(Matt 5:14-16)

 The world is full of darkness. Everywhere you look there are examples of evil that threaten our comfort and peace of mind. Christians are called to be bright spots in a dark world. We are not to be only interested in our own needs, but are to actively seek ways to bring comfort and the love of God to others. When there is a crisis ,Christians should be the first on the scene, not to offer preaching or pat answers, but a shoulder to cry on and a listening ear. Only when we are asked for answers should we with fear and trembling offer words of Christian insight.

  A comfy blanket, warm meal, and a helping hand speak volumes more than words ever will. And when others ask the reason for our generosity we should be quick to point out that we are ambassadors of Christ and living examples of His love for them. It is through our "love in action" that others will care about us and more importantly about the one who has sent us.

Prayer: Dear Lord- Thank you loving us. Help us to reflect your love for others through our actions. Help us to be quick to act, slow to speak, and  unstoppable in our determination to show your love. In Jesus name- Amen.
